TTBB Choir / Audition Music

Posted August 27, 2010

High school directors and/or their students participating in All State auditions this year should download the following two scores. Both will be part of the All State audition this year and are available for free download. The di Lasso piece is public domain, and the Pirates of Penzance arrangement is available by arrangement with the composer as described below.

Permission from the composer "grants the Florida Vocal Association permission to copy and use "Pirates of Penzance Medley" for the Florida All-State TTBB High School Choir, January, 2011; Carol Krueger, Conductor. This does not grant any other schools, ensembles or organizations to copy and use this piece - only the All-State group is included in this usage." If you want to use it for your school or any other group, you MUST obtain direct/separate permission from the composer: Dr. Johnie Dean, 753 Wyndham Hills Drive, Lexington, KY 40514. Phone 859/224-4714 (home) or 859/608-5990 (cell) or e-mail drjdean (at) hotmail.com.

Registration

Directors should be aware that there are two different forms of registration:

  1. Audition registration: Online audition registration must be completed by TBA. Directors who wish to enter students in the All-State chorus auditions must register entering students using both paper applications and FVA's online registration. Contact your district chairman for instructions in the fall.
  2. Conference registration: Directors with students that earn a place in an All-State chorus must register both themselves and their students for the FMEA conference. You can do this using the paper application or online through the FMEA web site.
