2026 Summer Conference

2026 Summer Professional Development Conference

July 22–24, 2026
Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs

Prior to the start of each new school year, FVA holds its Summer Conference. At this time, teachers are afforded an excellent opportunity to renew professional acquaintances, meet new people and to participate in enlightening workshops. This convention is designed to address concerns and discuss ideas that are immediately applicable to teaching in the upcoming year. Always useful are the choral Reading Sessions, where new or tried-and-true music is introduced. All-State music for Middle and High School Choruses is introduced, and sometimes conducted, by the next clinician. Also, one of the two annual FVA General Membership meetings is held at the Summer Conference.

The conference hotel rate is $129. Please use the hotel link below to book your rooms to make sure we meet the required quota for the conference. If we don’t meet the quota, FVA must cover the cost for all remaining rooms.

Adjudicator Training and Recertification

The adjudicator training and renewal session is held the day prior to the Summer Conference at the conference hotel. The training session for both first time and renewals will begin at 9:00 am and continue until 5:00 pm.

Awards Chorale

If you are participating in this year’s Awards Ceremony Chorale, documents will be posted soon. 

New Director Lunch

This luncheon is a means for choral directors new to Florida, new to teaching, or new to the secondary level, to become acquainted with FVA rules and procedures. New directors will be acquainted with the FVA Handbook, Omnibuses, Music List.
