Honor Chorus Requirements
  • Student must have been in 6th grade during the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Student must be a treble singer (unchanged voice for males)
Director must be a current member of FVA and FMEA.
  • The director may nominate UP TO FIVE (5) students, ranked in order of preference for placement.
  • The Nomination Form link will be available in your MPA Online homepage.
  • The Nomination Form submission deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024. Any incomplete, incorrect, or late nomination forms will not be considered.
  • All nominated participants must complete and return a signed Participant Contract. A button to print these contracts will appear when a student is added. Signed nomination form and student contracts should be emailed together as one file to david@fva.net by
March 22, 2024 to be considered for selection.
  • Directors DO NOT need to be present to check the students in on Tuesday, but the directors MUST be registered for and attend the concert and conference on Wednesday.
  • Any directors interested in assisting during Tuesday’s check-in and rehearsals may contact the choir coordinator, Melinda Fradley at trebleallstars@fva.net
For Brevard county schools, the application will require the name and signature of the recommending elementary music teacher along with the director at the middle school the student is scheduled to attend in the fall of 2024.
Vocal Part Placement
  • Students will NOT be assigned a voice part. They will be assigned to a group and the groups will rotate on voice parts for each song. Each child will sing one song each on T1, T2, T3, soprano, and alto during the concert.

  • Concert attire for the Wednesday morning performance will be blue jeans and the honor chorus t-shirt (included in the registration fee).

  • Selected students are responsible for knowing all of the music before they arrive at the first rehearsal Tuesday morning.

  • The rehearsal tracks will be organized by the assigned groups. Each song will include the full mix-down and the part-predominant track assigned for that song.

  • Students selected from one school will all be assigned to the same group enabling them to rehearse together more easily.

Parent/Chaperone Responsibilities

It will be the parent/guardian responsibility to transport the child to the conference and check them in to rehearsals.

A chaperone from each school must be in the hotel facility during rehearsals.

Singers will be on their own Tuesday for the lunch break to eat with their parent/guardian/chaperone. There are a multitude of fast food options along US-192.

Room rate information at the Wyndham Orlando Resort and Conference Center/Celebration will be available soon. Students and directors are responsible for their own accommodations for the conference.
